For further insight into Taiwanese students’ online behavior, Asia University and National Cheng Kung University were commissioned by the Ministry of Education for the program “Survey and Analysis of Students’ Internet Usage.” “104 Internet Usage Survey of Primary and Secondary Students’ Presentation” was published on September 17, 2015. It’s concerned essentially with different types of parenting for 3C products this year.
There are four types of parenting for 3C products: (1) permissive-indulgent parenting, (2) permissive-indifferent parenting, (3) authoritarian parenting, and (4) authoritative parenting. The results indicated that permissive-indulgent parenting and permissive-indifferent parenting were correlated with higher prevalence of Internet addiction. Instead, being able to respond children's needs appropriately, setting explicit rules, and understanding their Internet usage, the lower prevalence of Internet addiction.
According to the analysis, Ministry of Education will promote tertiary prevention at school. Moreover, to prevent Internet addition effectively, investing resources into training of professionals, developing intervention programs and materials were now in progress.
