How does the human brain shift between truth and deception during interrogation or lie-detection tasks? This talk approaches the topic from a cognitive neuroscience perspective, explaining how decision conflict, attentional control, and emotional load shape response patterns in deception paradigms. It further highlights how neural and behavioral markers can optimize item design to enhance detection accuracy and research validity. Through interdisciplinary integration, we gain new insights into how the brain operates when telling the truth—or telling a lie.
